INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC Audition Information
Please send an Audition Video that includes the following:
1. SLATE:

An introduction of yourself and your audition piece.

State your first name, last name, the name of the piece you are performing and the composer/artist who wrote the song.
2. OSIS:
-
Clearly state your OSIS number and what school you currently attend.
3. Statement of Interest or Experience:
-
Record yourself talking about your interest or experience in music. Do you listen to music? How is music a part of your life, culture and identity? Have you had the chance to play an instrument in a group or in school?
4. Scale (optional):
-
Instrumental:
-
Flute, oboe, trombone, tuba, electric bass play Bb major scale, one octave ascending and descending.

Clarinet, trumpet, tenor sax, play C major scale, one octave ascending and descending.

Alto/baritone sax, play G major scale one octave ascending and descending.
-
French horn, play F major scale one octave ascending and descending.
-
Violin, viola, cello, double bass, guitar play D or G major scale one octave ascending and descending.

Piano play F or G major scale, two hands one octave ascending and descending.

Drums/percussion play the following rudiments on a snare drum: flam, double stroke roll, paradiddle.

5. Musical Piece:

Instrumental:

Play one musical piece or part of a piece that is at least 16 measures long, but no longer than 2 minutes.

Classical pieces, jazz pieces, band/orchestra arrangements, folk songs and etudes from a method book are all good choices.

Play on your own, with no electronic background music or accompaniment.
